ESMRMB - Clinical fMRI & dMRI

Ort: University of Cardiff Brain Research Imaging Centre / UK
Datum: 28.06.2018-30.06.2018
The aim of this course is to convey in-depth knowledge about functional MR imaging (fMRI) and diffusion (tensor & beyond) MR imaging (dMRI), with a focus on clinical practice. These advanced MR neuroimaging techniques are increasingly applied to the study of the healthy and diseased human brain and provide information about the brain’s activity and its connections. The course will offer an overview of present methodologies, an update about functional anatomy and anoverview of clinical as well as some research applications. These topics are taught using a mixture of lectures andsmall group exercises. In addition, a practical session on a 3T MR system performing fMRI studies in healthy volunteerscomplements the taught elements of the course. Finally, special attention is given to the (clinical) interpretation ofspecific cases, including results from both routine presurgical fMRI examinations and more advanced fMRI (group) studies.
